Murat Nausbievich Kardanov ( Kabard. Cherk. Kärden Nausby and Kue Murat ; born January 4, 1971 , Zaragizh , Kabardino-Balkaria ) - Russian athlete ( Greco-Roman wrestling ), statesman. Honored Master of Sports of Russia (2000), Olympic champion (2000). Chairman of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic Parliament Committee on Sports [1] , Deputy Head of the Department for Supervisory Activities of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Management in the KBR [2] , was an adviser to the President of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic [3] .

Biography
Born in the village of Zaragiž [3] . By nationality Kabardian . The Kardanov family moved to Nalchik and ten-year-old Murat came to the sports section to engage in classical wrestling. His mentor was Vladimir Ermolaevich Lobzhanidze .
He graduated from the Kuban State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism . He played for SKA ( Stavropol ). He joined the Russian national team in 1993 . 2000 Olympic champion in weight up to 76 kg. Winner of the World Cup 1992, 1995 and 1997, champion of Europe 1998. Repeated winner of world and European championships.
