History
Initially, the street was called Nikolskaya Street after the name of the Nikolskaya Chapel, which was located nearby on the eponymous square near the current tram ring. Religious passages were made to this chapel along Nikolskaya Street to meet and see off the icons of the Kazan Mother of God and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
After the October Revolution of 1917 in 1925, the chapel was demolished, and a decade later the street itself was renamed in honor of the classic of Bashkir and Tatar literature, Mazhit Gafuri .
In 1959, the Ufa television center was built on Gafuri Street, which became an urban landmark and a kind of urban landmark.
Currently, the southern part of Gafuri street is built up with modern buildings, while its northern part is mainly a private sector with wooden houses. The southern part of the street along with Zaki Validi street is used for sports [1] [2] .
