Institute History
- It was created on July 19, 1944 by order of the People's Commissariat of Power Plants of the USSR as the “Central Scientific Research Electrotechnical Laboratory” (TsNIEL) as an All-Union Scientific Research Institute.
- In 1958, TsNIEL was reorganized into the All-Union Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (VNIIE).
- In 1995, VNIIE was transformed into the Open Joint-Stock Company Scientific Research Institute of Electric Power Engineering (OJSC VNIIE).
- Since 2006, it has been a branch of the Scientific and Technical Center for Electric Power Engineering Open Joint-Stock Company (a branch of the Scientific and Technical Center for Electric Power Industry, VNIIE).
