Biography

Born December 16, 1993 in St. Petersburg . At the age of six, he moved with his family to Stepanakert (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic). There he went to school and took the first steps in the field of karate. He moved to Yerevan in 2010. On December 26, 2011 he was called up for military service.

Karate

At a fairly late age (12 years), Arthur decided to go in for one of the martial arts. As the athlete himself later explains, his choice was made after he attended one training session. In training, he carefully watched the karate fight, and this sight struck him so much that the next morning, without telling anyone, he packed up his training things and went to the gym. Parents, in particular the mother, did not allow classes to begin due to congenital heart disease, but the adolescent's insistence changed the nature of the mother, and she was forced to agree. At first, Arthur was an outsider of the group and several times stopped classes. But the desire to play sports forced him to start training again.

First Results

Two years later, the first medal appeared. In October 2007, Arthur became the bronze medalist of the Armenian Championship. Prior to the first serious competition in 2011, Arthur repeatedly became the champion, vice-champion and bronze medalist of the championships of Armenia. There were also trips to Tbilisi (Georgia) to the championship of the Caucasus. In 2010, Arthur Arushanyan moved from Stepanakert to Yerevan, where he entered the faculty of karate at ASIFK (Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture). Then the young athlete began to train under the leadership of the President of the Armenian Kyokushin Federation.
