Description
A young man sits at the table and cleans the pear from the crust along with a layer of wax. The artist just gave the transitional age of a teenager who already felt the first signs of growing up - hence the fashionable hairstyle, tie and the first unshaven stubble.
Provenance
The painting was in the collection of the artist Anders Zorn (1860-1920), who worked in Paris. In 1896, Zorn presented the painting to the National Museum of Sweden, which was a valuable contribution to the museum's collection of works by the predecessors and creators of French impressionism.
