Motorway P246 originates in Bugulma, in the "Upper Town" district, in the south-south-western part of the city. At a distance of about 2 km, the P246 reaches the X-shaped intersection and crosses the P239 Kazan-Orenburg highway. The “ Give way ” sign is set here, since P239 is the main one. In front of the intersection there is a straight direction indicator - Tat. Dymskaya 27 km, to the right - Uralsk 412 km, and the sign of the speed limit 50km / h. Immediately after the circular intersection, the R246 falls on an adjustable railway crossing without a barrier near the village of Bazarovka of the Akbash - Bugulma railway line. In this area, the road runs almost parallel to the railway line, up to the railway station Akbash. High-speed traffic through the village is limited to 40km / h. At the exit from the village of Akbash, the P246 gets on an adjustable railway crossing also without a barrier, and then, passing along the outskirts of the village of Andreyevka (Akbashskoye rural settlement), crosses the border of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Orenburg region. No border crossing sign available.

From the border with the Republic of Tajikistan, passing by the village of Remchugovo, in front of the T-shaped intersection there are signs of speed limits 70 and 50 km / h. At the intersection there is a gas station # 2. After a long climb, the P246 crosses a secondary road going from the railway station Dymka to the Settlement village (via the M5 Ural).
