Biography
Guzman Kosanov was born into a large family in the Semipalatinsk region .
In 1951 he entered the railway school of Semipalatinsk . In addition to studying, he went in for sports: football, skiing, athletics, hockey.
During military service he was sent to serve in Sevastopol. Here he was admitted to the school of anti-tank defense. Once at a competition among cadets in the 100-meter race, he unexpectedly showed an excellent result - 10.8 seconds.
In 1955, at the Ukrainian SSR Championship, Kosanov in the 100 meter race with a result of 10.7 seconds. climbed to the second step of the podium. The champion of Ukraine then became the famous athlete Leonid Bartenev , who won 0.1 seconds against Kosanov. In 1957, the famous trainer Alexander Alexandrovich Maslovsky invited Kosanov to the city of Chisinau. Where he meets his future wife Zinaida Tikhonovna Rydenko . Guzman enters the college of physical education and continues to do athletics. In the first competition, he becomes the champion of Moldova in the 200 and 400 meters race and in the 4 × 100 relay race. In the spring of 1960, the 4 × 100 m relay race was won by the national team of the Armed Forces with a result of 40.7 seconds.
In the status of champion of the USSR, Kosanov, as part of the national team of the country, is preparing for the 1960 Games in Rome. As part of the USSR national team in the relay race 4 × 100 m, Gusman Kosanov, Leonid Bartenev , Yuri Konovalov and Edwin Ozolin took to the treadmill. Gusman Kosanov has two sons, Marat (born March 26, 1962) and Arman (born January 28, 1971), and two grandchildren Asanali (born September 17, 1999) and Diasali (born July 31, 2001) [2] .

Interesting Facts
In the 100-meter race, Kosanov’s personal record was 10.2 seconds (1962) [3] , which was then a repeat of the USSR record Edwin Ozolin and is still a record for Kazakhstan.
