Biography
Ajige participated in the military campaigns of his father Nurhatsi and his elder brother Abahai. In 1643, after the death of his elder brother, the Manchu emperor Abahai , at the princely council, Beile Dodo and Adjige proposed that their brother Dorgon take the vacant imperial throne, but the latter refused in favor of his nephew Fulin . In view of his infancy, two regent princes began to govern the state - cousins Dorgon and Jirgalan . Soon, Dorgon completely removed from the control of his rival Jirgalan and began to rule sovereignly. Ajige became interim assistant and ally of regent Dorgony . In 1644, Beyle Adzhige received the title of Prince Ying from his nephew, the Qing Emperor Fulin . Since 1644 , Ajige has been actively involved in the Manchu conquest of China.
In 1650, after the death of his younger brother, regent prince Dorgon , Ajige plotted to seize the position of regent, but was uncovered and placed under arrest. In November 1651, under pressure from the emperor Fulin, Ajige was forced to commit suicide.
Of the four wives, he had twelve sons.
