The Central Statistical Office of the Roman Catholic Church ( Latin: Generale Ecclesiæ Rationarium ) is the dicasterium of the Holy See as part of the Roman Curia.
History
The Central Statistical Office of the Roman Catholic Church was established on August 15, 1967 by Pope Paul VI , first as the Central Statistical Bureau.
Functions
In accordance with the Apostolic Constitution of Pastor Bonus [1], this special institution is subordinate to the State Secretariat of the Vatican, whose head is the Cardinal Secretary of State. The Central Statistical Service of the Roman Catholic Church is included in the first section of the State Secretariat - the General Affairs Section . The task of the Central Statistical Service is: “ With the help of the Central Statistical Service, the Church collects, approves and publishes all the data that has been developed in accordance with the statistical rules that apply to the life of the Ecumenical Church throughout the world ... ” [2] The Central Statistical Service is engaged in , to a large extent, exclusively by this, as well as the creation of the Annuario Pontificio .
