Story

The film tells about the attempts of terrorists to hijack a Tu-134 B.

The first minutes are documentation of security measures taken by Aeroflot against air terrorists [1] . And only then the credits begin, and after them - the film itself.

It all starts with the fact that the frivolous flight attendant Katya Vasilchikova agreed to carry a suitcase aboard her plane, where, according to the preliminary version, there were collection cognacs for the newlyweds Andrei and Tanya flying on the same flight. Thus, the stewardess became an unintentional accomplice of terrorists.

The plot of the film is close to the action movie with elements of a detective story. The film shows what the loss of vigilance by Aeroflot employees (especially the criminal negligence of the flight attendant Katy) leads to, how the crew should act in an emergency, how to report on the situation on the ground, what to look for when communicating with terrorists. Here is the instruction for passengers, namely, what the attempts to neutralize the hijackers on the example of the death of Valera and Boris, who decided not to wait for help, but to act themselves. At the same time, it is shown how the ground services operate according to the Nabat plan. Since this movie was primarily intended for flight crews, they were inspired by the thought: do not despair, hold on, the earth is with you.

The Fate of an Aircraft

The film shot Tu-134B, state registration of the USSR-65716. This machine is noteworthy in that it is the last production copy of the Tu-134B (modification A was produced later) [2] . Immediately after the release, the plane ended up at the State Research Institute of Civil Aviation, then flew to Baku for some time, after which it was in Syktyvkar .

Criticism

There was a misconception that this film was a failed response to the action movie " Pirates of the 20th Century " [3] , and that it didn’t end up in wide distribution by order of the KGB of the USSR .

At that time, the film was very expensive and the shooting was financed by the then Minister of Civil Aviation of the USSR Boris Bugaev [4] .
