Weapon
In a cold weapon, the top is the part of the handle opposite the blade . Banner (standard)
The top is an element of a banner or standard , mounted on the top of the pole , brass gilded or silvered (nickel silver - in the guard ) decoration on top (hence the name) of the pole.
