Biography
He was born on January 2, 1927 in the village of Ivankovo (now - Tambov district, Tambov region) in a peasant family. In childhood, he was left without a father, his mother went to work in the capital to work, was brought up in the family of his grandfather. In 1942 he graduated from the seven-year school in his native village. Then he was sent along with classmates from the collective farm to tractor driver courses.
In the winter of 1944, Sergei uncle Ivan Alekseevich Yatskov took Sergei to himself. At this time, he worked in a tunnel restoration team. After the Germans left, the detachment restored tunnels near Novorossiysk and in the Crimea . Here Sergey worked as a trolley driver, brought rails, gravel, people to the place of rubble.
After the war, he returned to his dream of becoming a train engineer. In 1950, he graduated from the school of electric locomotive drivers at the Andreev Railway College in Moscow. Got a referral to the locomotive depot named after Ilyich of the Moscow Railway. With this enterprise all his further labor activity was connected.
From 1950 to 1958 he worked on electric trains in the Moscow - Golitsyno , Moscow- Zvenigorod sections. Yatskov graduated from high school for working youth, the All-Union Correspondence College of Railway Transport of the Ministry of Railways .
With the electrification of the road, the shoulders grew, first to Kubinka , then to Mozhaisk . November 22, 1958 spent his first freight train to Mozhaisk on an electric locomotive. Drove freight and passenger trains on the section Moscow - Mozhaysk and Moscow - Vyazma - 248 km.
In 1969, he led a train from Mozhaisk to Moscow at a speed of 100 km per hour. At one of the crossings , a bus got stuck in time, was able to stop the train and prevent the tragedy. For the prevention of an accident, he was awarded the badge of Honorary Railroad .
At the beginning of 1973 a movement unfolded for the early fulfillment of the planned tasks of the ninth five-year plan . According to the results of the social competition, Yatskov was named the best by profession, awarded the Order of Lenin . In 1975, following the results of the competition of the October and Moscow roads, he received a challenge crystal cup. In 1977 he was recognized as the best driver of the railway network.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 13, 1977, for the outstanding successes achieved in fulfilling the planned tasks for 1976 and the socialist obligations assumed, Yegkov Sergey Yegorovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Hammer and Sickle Hammer
Over 27 years of work as a driver in a depot named after Ilyich Yatskov overcame 2.5 million km. He worked on electric locomotives of almost all types. He was a mentor, passed on his practical experience and knowledge to beginners, brought up many highly qualified machinists.
S.E. Yatskov combined his labor successes with vigorous social activity. For many years he was a member of the Dorprofsozh , the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions , the Moscow City Committee of the CPSU , a deputy of the Moscow Soviet , in 1976 he was elected a delegate to the XXV Congress of the CPSU , in 1979 - a deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR . In 1986, he wrote the book "Always on the Road" [1] .
In 1997 S.E. Yatskov retired. While on a well-deserved rest, he participated in the life of his “native” road, was engaged in public work in the Council of Veterans, met with schoolchildren, and participated in various events.
Died June 18, 2012.
