Warsaw Mutual Society “Sphinx” ( Polish: Warszawskie Towarzystwo Udziałowe “Sfinks” ) is a Warsaw film company, first representing the French film studio “Pate” ( Pathé ) in the Kingdom of Poland , then an independent Polish film studio .

The company was created in 1909 by Alexander Herz (1879–1928), who began to create short films showing interesting facts, for example. flight of an airplane. The first feature film arose in 1911 .
