Soon the Russian intervention came (7,000 soldiers entered), and the Czartoryski’s personal troops switched to Russian pay. As a result, from May 7 to June 23, 1764, the Convocational Seimas met to prepare the electoral campaign of Stanislav Augustus Poniatowski, and who simultaneously carried out a number of important reforms about the structure of the Commonwealth. In particular, private duties were eliminated, a single duty on the state treasury was introduced, Liberum veto was abolished when voting on military and financial matters, a ban on the oath of ambassadors on deputy orders was introduced, the system of measures and weights was unified. In 1766, the Seim Chaplits , and in 1768 the Seim Repnin destroyed most of the changes adopted at the provocative Seim in 1764 .
