The 1994 referendum in Finland ( Fin. Suomen EU-kansanäänestys ) was a national referendum in Finland on the country's accession to the European Union , held on October 16, 1994.
The decision on the country's entry into the European Union was approved by 56.9% of the votes of citizens, with the attendance of the population having the right to vote - 74.0% [1] [2] .
Due to its autonomous status, the Aland Islands held a referendum on November 20, 1994, which also approved the country's entry into the European Union [3] .
