History
According to legend, the inhabitants of the village came from a certain Mordvin named Poksha, who, for his loyal royal service, Ivan the Terrible, presumably, was granted the land on which the village was located. The son of Poksha, Pomai built a house on the inherited land, from which the village went. Three other sons: Arkai, Narkai and Atyash became the founders of the villages of Parkino , Atyashkino and Arkaevo, respectively.
The population adhered to paganism until it was baptized during the reign of Empress Elizabeth.
In 1925, the buildings in the village were mostly wooden, log, thatched. Half of the houses had a cow roof and only 7 had an iron roof. For the whole village there were 134 horses, 170 cows and 330 sheep, while 58 families did not have a single horse or cow. 170 families made sheepskin and leather, which were sold at the fair in Astradamovka. There was one mill, and two more water mills were 2 km from the village. There was a school in the village, a reading room, hospitals and a telephone.
Subsequently, the village of Pomayevo was considered one of the largest settlements in the district. Agriculture was developed ( horse breeding , sheep breeding ). There were garages for agricultural machinery, a forge, an apiary, a shop, a club.
In the late Soviet era, the village gradually began to decline. The asphalt road was never completed. The farm has closed. At the beginning of the 90s there were no more than 30 residential yards, the population was mainly composed of residents of retirement age. Nevertheless, in the summer, the village was quite lively due to the children and grandchildren of the residents who came to rest.
Around the village there are many meadows rich in strawberries and strawberries. Many residents of neighboring villages came here for oregano . Also Pomayevo was famous for its springs.
Currently, the village is practically absent. The buildings are destroyed, the streets are overgrown with nettles and burdocks. A huge number of snakes bred on the site of the former farm (especially on the site of the silo pit).
There is a legend that in the forest near the village a treasure of Stenka Razin is buried.
