Biography
He graduated from high school in Skien . Then he studied at the University of Oslo . Since 1837, he lectured at the same university. In 1841 he received the academic title of professor [1] .
December 12, 1857 was elected a corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences in the category of historical and political sciences [2] . Since 1861 he was the archivist of the state archive [1] .
Contribution to Science
Munch's scientific research was devoted to the reconstruction of the most ancient period of Norwegian history . Compiled a scientific work , which described the history of Norway until 1397 [1] .
