Club career
Born in London. In 2007, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur Youth Academy. He played for the youth and reserve teams of the club. In July 2009, he signed his first professional contract with Tottenham [3] .
In 2009, he went on loan to Yeovil Town [4] , having spent 46 matches for the club during the 2009/10 season, and also received 4 club awards for the season, under the guidance of the head coach and Yeovil legend, Terry Skyverton [ 5] .
After returning from the European Junior Championship, Cocker extended his contract with Tottenham until 2013. [6] On September 21, 2010, Stephen made his debut for the “ spurs ” in the match of the Football League Cup against Arsenal [7] . On September 26, 2010, Cocker went to rent at Bristol City until the end of the season. [8] For “Bristol” Stephen played 30 matches and scored 2 goals, and was also recognized as the best young player of the year in the club [9] .
Season 2011/12 Stephen Cocker held a lease at the club " Swansea City " [10] . He made his debut in the Premier League on 15 August in a match against Manchester City , having played a full match on the field [11] . In total, he played 26 matches in the season and helped Swansea to take 11th place in the Premier League.
On July 5, 2012, Stephen signed a new four-year contract with Tottenham [12] .
On July 31, 2013, Cocker moved to the Cardiff City club, which went to the Premier League, and signed a four-year contract. The amount of transfer was a record for the club 8 million pounds. In the 2013/14 season, Cocker played in all 38 matches of the championship without substitutions, scored five goals, but this did not help Cardiff to maintain a place in the Premier League.
On July 22, 2014, Cocker signed a four-year contract with the Queens Park Rangers Club. His new club also did not avoid flying to the Championship in the first season of Stephen. Season 2015/16 Cocker spent in leases, the first six months in the “ Southampton ”, then in “ Liverpool ”. In both clubs, he rarely appeared on the field. December 28, 2017 Cocker agreed on early termination of the contract with the CRC [13] .
Career in the national team
As part of the England U-19 team, he took part in the 2010 European Youth Championship , where the English reached the semi-finals.
In November 2010, he made his debut in the national team of England under the age of 21 in a match against the German national team [14] .
In July 2012, he was included in the Olympic team of Great Britain at the Olympic Games [15] .
