Solombalsky district is one of the nine territorial districts of Arkhangelsk .

The district is located north of the central part of Arkhangelsk , behind the Kuznechevsky bridge . It is washed by the ducts of the Northern Dvina Maimaks and Kuznechikha. The Solombalka River flows (strongly looping) through the territory of the okrug. The district includes: the historic Solombal district, the Kemsky village and the villages of the former sawmills (No. 12 on the island of Khabarka , No. 14 and No. 21 - in South Maimaks).
History
In 1932, the Solombalsky district was organized, and by Decree of the Presidium of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions of the USSR of April 26, 1934, the Solombalsky District Council was included in the city line of Arkhangelsk .
In 1991, in accordance with the resolution of the Mayor of Arkhangelsk dated November 13, 1991 No. 2 and the decision of the Arkhangelsk City Council of Deputies dated November 15, 1991 No. 88 “On the Formation of Territorial Urban Districts”, the structure of the city’s governing bodies was reorganized, as a result which eliminated the division into districts and formed 9 territorial districts, including the Solombalsky district (from the part of the abolished Solombalsky district ) [2] [3] .

Infrastructure
The Solombala Engineering Plant, the Krasnaya Kuznitsa shipyard, the Arkhangelsk trawler fleet base, the Arkhangelsk bakery, the packing and shipping line of the Solombala LDK, 5 communication departments, the city clinical hospital No. 7 (with two feldsher sites), a water clinic, and a dispensary are located on the territory of the okrug. Meridian of the Northern Shipping Company, Maritime Professional Lyceum No. 9 named after S. N. Oreshkova, basic comprehensive schools No. 38 and No. 40, special correctional secondary school No. 39, secondary schools No. 41, No. 48, No. 49, No. 50, No. 52, No. 62, branch No. 2 open (shift) schools, kindergartens No. 114 “Snegiryok”, No. 140 “Creativity”, No. 167 “Smile”, No. 179 “Anchor” and No. 183 “Spark”.
The largest streets and avenues of the Solombala District: Sovetskaya, Nikolsky, Naberezhnaya Georgy Sedova, Taimyrskaya, Admiral Kuznetsova, Valyavkina, Krasnoflotskaya, Teryokhin, Mayakovsky, Red Partisans, Kedrova, Meshchersky, Maimaksanskoye Shosse, Mostovaya, Petrov, Maslovan, Fizulov, Fardovna, Bardovei Masvumov, Fizdov, Bvardeyeva Maimaksanskaya. At the intersection of Teryokhin Street and Nikolsky Prospect is Teryokhin Square.
In the northern part of the district there is a working cemetery " South Maimaksa
