History
In 1983, the Serbian Orthodox community in honor of St. Sava of Serbia acquired the premises of the Swedenborg Swedish parish (Swedenborgförsamlingen) in the suburb of Stockholm - Eskende [1] [2] . Due to the damage to the old aids by moisture, they were demolished and in 1991 a new Orthodox cathedral was built on the site dedicated to St. Sava of Serbia and acting as a cathedral church of the British-Scandinavian diocese .
The icons for the iconostasis of the cathedral were painted by Hieromonk Timofei (Kostanovich), and the famous Serbian icon painter Mark Ilic and Goika Ristanovic performed fresco painting.
The great consecration of the cathedral took place on October 5, 2014 and was performed by the Serbian patriarch Irenaeus [3] [4] .
