Biography
Julio Cesar is a graduate of the Corinthians Youth Academy, although he started playing football at the school of the lesser-known club from São Paulo, Guapira. In 2005, after two consecutive victories in the São Paulo Youth Cup , Julio Cesar first played for the Corinthians roster. This happened in a winning match (2: 1) against Figuirence , held on May 22. Julio Cesar competed for a place at the base first with the goalkeeper Tiago, and then with another pupil of the youth squad, Marcelo , but to no avail. Despite the fact that Julio Cesar became a double for a long time, thanks to the only game against Figueirense, he also became the champion of Brazil in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, he did not play the basis of “Timao” neither in the championship of Brazil, nor in the Cup of the country, nor even in the championship of the state of São Paulo.
In 2008, when Corinthians struggled to return to the elite division, Julio Cesar again began to gain a place at the base. He continued to be the reserve goalkeeper that year, as in 2009, but periodically defended the gates of his team. Everything changed in 2010, when goalkeeper Felipe went to Braga . Julio Cesar became a title and even Aldo Bobadilla , who joined the team after the 2010 World Cup , failed to make Kuririna (The goalkeeper's nickname in honor of the bald character Akira Toriyama [1] ) competition. In the following years, Julio Cesar had more than once to wage a fierce fight with various new Corinthians goalkeepers, but he regularly won this fight.
In 2011, it was Julio Cesar who was the main goalkeeper of the team that won the Brazilian championship. He also started the Libertadores Cup 2012 as a base player, but after an unsuccessful game in the League Paulista Titus decided to bet on Casio [2] . It was Cácio who spent the remainder of the tournament, which culminated in the first Corinthians victory in tournaments sponsored by CONMEBOL . From April to June 2012, Timo’s gates were defended exclusively by Casio, and only in June did Julio Cesar again enter the field.
In December 2012, Julio Cesar went to the Club World Cup as a reserve goalkeeper. Without playing a minute at the tournament, formally Julio Cesar also became the winner of the tournament, and the main goalkeeper Casio received the Golden Ball to the best player of the final match and the tournament as a whole.
