Villeneuve-Loubet ( fr. Villeneuve-Loubet ) is a commune in southeastern France in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region , the Alpes-Maritimes department , Grasse district , Villeneuve-Loubet canton [1] . Until March 2015, the commune was administratively part of the abolished canton of West Cagnes-sur-Mer (Grasse district).

Geographical position
The commune is located between the cities of Cagnes-sur-Mer and Antibes , at a distance of [5] 690 km southeast of Paris , 150 km east of Marseille , 13 km southwest of Nice . The population is 15,091 people (as of 2009) [6] [7] .
Villeneuve-Loubet is located at the mouth of the Lu River . The city arose as a result of the union of two villages - the old village of Villeneuve, which is the inner part of Villeneuve-Loubet and the village of Loubet, located on the Mediterranean coast . The coastline in the city is approximately 4 km. Villeneuve-Loubet is both a resort and part of the technopolis Sofia Antipolis .

In 2010, out of 9,748 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 7583 were economically active , 2165 inactive (activity indicator 77.8%, in 1999 - 71.4%). 6898 out of 7583 active able-bodied residents worked (3582 men and 3316 women), 685 were unemployed (264 men and 421 women). Among 2165 able-bodied inactive citizens, 740 were pupils or students , 762 were pensioners , and another 663 were inactive for other reasons [11] [12] .
