History

Russian Empire

The company was founded in the city of Aleksandrovsk, Yekaterinoslav Province of the Russian Empire in 1907. Until December 1915, the plant produced agricultural machinery and tools, performed various types of machining, cast iron and copper products. During the First World War, Russia needed to establish the production of aircraft engines. In December 1915, the joint-stock company Duflon, Konstantinovich and Co. (“Deka”) bought out the plant and changed its profile to produce aircraft engines. Already in August 1916, the first engine was made for aviation - the 6-cylinder “Deka M-100” with water cooling [4] . His drawings were created under the guidance of engineer Vorobiev [5] .

Ukraine

In 1999, the plant received the status of a special exporter (the right to self-export of military products) [6] .

As of 2010, Motor Sich PJSC produced and accompanied in operation 55 types and modifications of engines for 61 types of airplanes and helicopters [7] .

Until March 2013, the company was headed by V. A. Boguslaev . Since March 2013 and. about. Sergey Voytenko, Production Director and Minority Shareholder of Motor Sich, became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Motor Sich PJSC.

In 2013, Motor Sich ranked fifth in the ranking of the leading high-tech engineering enterprises in Ukraine in terms of managerial innovation. [eight]

In mid-November 2014, the company Motor Sich announced the suspension of the supply of engines for Russian cruise missiles. [9]

On April 23, 2018, SBU officers searched the company, trading in shares on Ukrainian stock exchanges was frozen. The official reason is “ sabotage ” by the management of the company. In the company itself they consider this to be a raider seizure of an enterprise [10] .

Monument to the hero-builders

The history of the head plant originates from the moment the Deka plant was established in 1907 in Aleksandrovsk (since 1921 - Zaporizhia ). The main structural unit of the enterprise manufactured aircraft engines, carried out their repair and maintenance, manufactured drives for gas and oil pumping units, mobile automated power plants, a number of consumer goods.

In Soviet times, the plant also bore the name: Motor Plant No. 29 .

Zaporozhye Machine-Building Plant named after V. I. Omelchenko

In connection with the development of the production of large-sized D-18T engines, a new testing station was built on the right-bank site (Zaporozhye);

The main activity of the plant is foundry , testing of D-18T engines. Also, the plant produces gas turbine power plants with a capacity of 1000, 6000 kW.

Snezhnyansky Machine-Building Plant

In 1970 in the town of Snezhnoe, Donetsk region. the first branch of the plant was organized, which in 1974 was transformed into the Snezhnyansky engineering plant. SMZ was the industry’s first specialized factory for the production of gas turbine engine blades.

The plant manufactures parts for aircraft engines (compressor disks, compressor blades and turbines blades), parts and components for mining equipment, and consumer goods.

As of 2013, the plant employed more than 3,000 people. The plant is headed by director Nedashkovsky Alexander Petrovich, a deputy of the Donetsk Regional Council.

Public Joint-Stock Company “Motor Sich” announced the loss of control over the management of the assets of the separate division “Snezhnyansky Machine-Building Plant” from December 20, 2017, which is located in the territory of Donetsk Oblast uncontrolled by Ukraine [13] .

In 1971, the Volochisk Machine-Building Plant was established in Volochisk, Khmelnitsky region . The main task of the established plant is to ensure the assembly of aircraft engines with large-circulation parts and hardware, production of tooling.

A workshop for the production of mobile automated power plants PAES-2500 , repair of AI-20 engines and its modifications AI-20DKE, AI-20DKN, AI-20DME, AI-20DMN was organized at VMZ.

In addition, VSW produces auto parts, a number of products of the agricultural group.
