The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus ( Eng. Sacred Heart Cathedral ) is a Catholic church located in the city of Lahore , Pakistan . The church is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Lahore .

History
The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus was consecrated on November 19, 1907 by the Ordinary of the Diocese of Lahore Bishop Fabian Estermans . The church in the Roman-Byzantine style was designed by the Belgian architect Dubbelera.
November 20, 2007 marked the centenary of the church [1] . On this occasion, the postal service of Pakistan was issued a postage stamp. Pope Benedict XVI sent a congratulation on the anniversary of the arrival of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was read by the Apostolic Nuncio in Pakistan by Archbishop Adolfo Tito Illan.
On March 11, 2008, a Muslim terrorist sent a car loaded with explosives to the cathedral. As a result of the terrorist act, the church suffered greatly - the stained glass windows of artistic and historical value were destroyed by the explosion.
In 2011, a 20,000 baptism was registered in the cathedral from the time of the foundation of the temple [2] .
