( 22227 ) Polyksen ( Greek: Πολύξενος ) is a typical Trojan asteroid of Jupiter moving at Lagrange point L 4 , 60 ° ahead of the planet. The asteroid was discovered on September 25, 1973 by the Dutch astronomers K.J. van Houten , I. van Houten-Gruneveld and Tom Gerels at the Palomar Observatory and named after Poliksen , one of the characters in ancient Greek mythology [1] .
