Biography

Born on December 16 ( December 29, according to the new style) in 1917 in the village. Kamyshevakh, now the village of Popasnyansky district of Lugansk region of Ukraine, in a working class family. Ukrainian .

After graduating from a technical school, he worked as a mechanic and mechanic at a locomotive depot at Kupyansk station in the Kharkov region.

In the Red Army since 1936, he served in the Air Force. In 1939 he graduated from the Leningrad Military Aviation Technical School, in 1941 - navigational courses. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1941.

Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. The captain of the 27th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Guard, captain Alexander Verbitsky, by the end of the war, made 293 sorties to bombard important military installations behind enemy lines.

After the war he served in the USSR Air Force, including in the city of Engels .

The commander of the aviation regiment, Colonel A.E. Verbitsky, died on July 27, 1956 in a plane crash. The catastrophe occurred during take-off over the runway [1] .

Rewards
