As of October 1, 2004 , in addition to Orthodox parishes, 34 religious Jewish organizations were registered in the region, as well as 17 organizations of Evangelical Christian Baptists , Muslims, and others. On the days of the 70th anniversary of the Jewish Autonomous Region, the opening of the Main Synagogue , built according to the canons of Judaism, took place .
In 2012, the city plans to start building a mosque for the Muslim community of the city.
