Old coat of arms of the city

Residents of the city are distinguished by a passion for singing associations and choirs. Back in 1874, a singing festival was held in Reutlingen, in which 80 choir associations and a total of more than 2,400 singers, including from abroad, took part. The Württemberg Reutlingen Philharmonic received fame.

One of the city streets, Sproyerhofstrasse , is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the narrowest in the world: in the narrowest place, its width is 31 cm. This street, which in reality is only a passage between the houses, appeared on maps in 1820, and was built in 1726, after a massive reconstruction of Reutlingen after a fire [5] .
