Sarah Menezes ( port. Sarah Menezes ; March 26, 1990 , Teresina ) - Brazilian judoka , 2012 Olympic champion in the under 48 kg category [1] [2] , three-time bronze medalist of the World Championships (2010, 2011 , 2013). Winner of the Pan American Championships 2010, 2013 and 2015.

It performs in the lightest weight category up to 48 kg. Sarah won her first medal at the adult Pan American Judo Championship at the age of 15 in May 2005 in Kaguas in the under 44 kg category.
In the final of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, Sarah quite unexpectedly defeated the 2008 Olympic champion and 8-time European champion Alina Dumitra from Romania, who in the semifinals won the Japanese world leader Tomoko Fukumi . Menezes was the first Brazilian woman to win Olympic gold in judo (male judoists brought Brazil two gold at the 1988 and 1992 Games).
