Biography
Born on June 29 ( July 12 in a new style) 1917 in the village. Samokhino of the Russian Empire, now the Oktyabrsky district of the Volgograd region, in a peasant family. Russian
At the end of 9 classes he studied at the school, then worked as a foreman of locksmiths at a factory.
In the Red Army since 1938. Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943.
The air gunner-radio operator of the 396th separate special aviation regiment, Sergeant Major Ivan Velikorodny, by August 1944 made 211 sorties, participated in 59 air battles, in which he personally shot down 2 and as part of a group - 2 enemy aircraft.
In 1945 he graduated from the military aviation school of pilots. Since 1955, Senior Lieutenant Velikorodny is in stock. He lived in Dubovka, Volgograd region. He graduated from the interregional party school. He worked as the director of Dubovsky SPTU.
He died in 1985 [1] ( 1986 is indicated on the stele of the monument).
Rewards
- The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on February 23, 1945 [2] " For the exemplary performance of the combat missions of the Command at the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown at the same time ."
- He was awarded the Orders of Lenin, World War 1 degree, Red Star and medals.
