Creative Feature
The music is marked by the influence of romanticism , but also polystylistic (both inside each of the works, and when comparing different opuses), like the work of Pärt or Schnittke . [1]
Of the works in the cinema, the most famous is the music for Karen Shakhnazarov ’s film “The Killer ” ( 1991 ). At the same time, Vladislav Shut is one of the (last Soviet) generations of composers whose representatives are not widely known.
“... I consider our generation to be ignored. It is interesting that a very long time ago, about 27 years ago, when I was still a student, Butsko told me a prophetic phrase that a generation born in the 30s ( Schnittke , Shchedrin , Gubaidullina, etc.) “will not give you a go” . At the same time, he did not mean any purposeful actions of this generation, but he meant that all niches, all places will be occupied by this generation. And he was right. It took the departure of Schnittke, Denisov , Gubaidullina , Shchedrin to suddenly discover that it turns out that there is a composer Yekimovsky , who is in no way inferior to the above, there is a composer Karaev , there is Vustin ... I always wondered why the name Gubaidullina is widely known and popular and nobody knows the music of Shutter, which is in no way inferior to the music of Gubaidullina ... ” [1]
