Rachel Trats ( Dutch: Rachel Traets , b. August 16, 1998, Rotterdam ) is a Dutch singer, participant of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 , which took place on December 3, 2011 in the “Karen Demirchyan Sports Complex” ( Yerevan , Armenia ), where she represented the Netherlands with the song "Teenager". Rachel took 2nd place, 5 points she did not have enough to win.

Biography

Rachel Trats was born in the village of Wau in the municipality of Roosendaal . He is currently studying at Gertrudis College High School and also studies at Rock Academy in Tilburg . As a child, Rachel sang along with all the songs on the radio. From the age of 9 she began to seriously engage in singing. She also learns to dance, she dances on Fridays in Body Care, and also performs, dances and sings at the Youth Theater Hofplein [1] . Rachel loves shopping, especially with her girlfriends. She spends a lot of time on the Dutch social network Hyves. In her free time, Rachel loves to sing, and especially dance. As a special representative of the fund of chronic diseases and children with physical disabilities, she believes that everyone should be treated equally and given equal opportunities to realize their dreams. Like every teenager, Rachel prefers to spend time with her friends and does not want to devote much time to homework. She feels that she is at the top of her career and everything is possible for her and it's time to shine.

Pathway to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011

In order to get to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011, Rachel Trats took part in the national children's song contest in the Netherlands, gaining 36 points, defeating performers Yassir (28 points), and Lidewei (26 points), who won the second and third places respectively [2] [3] .

Health Issues

Since childhood, Rachel has a problem with her left hand (rupture of a nerve and it is partially paralyzed). This did not affect her life too much, but sometimes she cannot take things with her left hand correctly, because the hand is paralyzed. In infancy, Rachel had already undergone neurosurgery. At 4 years - another, on the muscles of the arm. Currently, she is regularly examined and the possibility of a third operation is being considered.
