Biography
Born in 1916 in the village of Sormovo, now within the boundaries of Nizhny Novgorod - the administrative center of the Nizhny Novgorod region, in a working class family.
He graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a locksmith in a factory.
In the Red Army since 1937. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940 .
Nikolai Mashkov distinguished himself in battles southeast of the city of Vyborg (now the Leningrad Region ).
February 11, 1940 participated in six attacks, suppressing the fire of enemy bunkers , destroying enemy infantry. When his tank was blown up by a mine , Mashkov left him and continued to fight as part of a rifle unit, and in this battle he died the brave.
Rewards
