Biography
Eugene de la Mott began his career as superefect of Dinan County in 1848 . In 1849, he became the suprefect of Verdun , Dieppe district in 1850 and the Loire in 1852. Further, he alternately becomes the prefect of Loeser (1853), Herault (1856), Gara and Morbiana (both - 1869).
Due to the extraordinary popularity of Mott, he was elected prefect of Berne County in 1876 and re-elected in 1881 (67% of voters voted for Mott).
Carried out his political activities during the period of the Third Republic .
In 1871, criminal proceedings were instituted against Mott regarding the embezzlement of public funds. However, the process was stopped, because, firstly, it made up for the missing funds, and, secondly, it was established that the funds were not used by Mott for personal purposes, but for the development of various societies located in the district.
After deportation from Switzerland , where he fled in connection with a criminal case against him, Mott returned to politics and published the Bonapartist newspaper Le Courrier d'Angers.
In 1857, Mott led the Era Society for Free Agriculture, Science, Art, and Fiction.
