History
On July 26, 2012, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church , the Zheleznogorsk diocese was established by isolating it from the Kursk diocese . Within the Kursk Region, the Kursk Metropolis was formed, which included the Kursk, Zheleznogorsk and Shchigrovsk dioceses [1] .
