History
The decision to build the Kansk CHP was made by the USSR Ministry of Light Industry in May 1950 . Initially, the station was built as an energy workshop of a cotton mill. The TPP was launched on October 18, 1953 ; on this day, a turbogenerator and a boiler were put under industrial load at the CHP.
In 1959, the CHP became an independent energy company.
Current status
Today, Kanskaya CHPP is the main source of heat supply for the city of Kansk and supplies energy products to more than 80% of the city's population, as well as industrial enterprises.
Station equipment includes seven boilers and three turbines .
The power plant can operate both in condensation mode and in the mode of combined heat and power generation. Coal from the Borodino mine , located 81 km from the station, is used as the main fuel.
In 2015, Kanskaya CHPP generated 109 million kWh of electric energy and 559 thousand Gcal of thermal energy.
