It is located 24 km east of Tver between the Volga River (2 km) and the Moscow-St. Petersburg highway ( Golenikha village 1.8 km).
In 1750, in Vedern (the patrimony of the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra), there were 27 yards.
In World War II, in 1941 the village was destroyed by fire, only 3 or 4 houses survived. The village stands in the field, many houses are brought from other villages.
In 1996, in the Old Vedern there were 13 households, 20 inhabitants.
