Xiphiopsylla hyparetes

Xiphiopsylla hyparetes (lat.) Is a flea species from the Xiphiopsyllidae family. East Africa [1] : Kenya , Congo , Tanzania . Among the hosts, mice of the following genera and species were noted : Lophuromys zena [2] , Crocidura and Lophuromys flavopuncta [3] , Rhinolophus hilderbrandti [4] and black rat ( Rattus rattus ) [5] .

The length of females is 4 mm, males - 3 mm [2] . They have teeth on the abdominal 1-4 segments. The 8th tergite of males is well developed, and the 9th tergite of females is completely reduced. Thorax and abdomen are covered with uniform thickened setae [6] [7] .
