For the first time, the Petrarch rugby players became the strongest in the country in 1970. In 1982, the team got to use the Stadium Plebeschito Arena , which had all the necessary infrastructure. Having won several league titles in the 1980s , the club entered a crisis period. By the end of the century, the team returned to its previous positions and twice reached the final of the championship (1997/98 and 1998/99), where both times lost to Benetton .
“Petrarch” is the twelve-time champion of Italy and two-time winner of the national cup (1982, 2001).
