History
Larsen's debut was preceded by a start developed by Nimtsovich - 1. Kg1-f3 d7-d5 2. b2-b3 followed by Cc1-b2 and e2-e3 (an attempt to play the New Indian defense with a change of color and excessive pace ). Sometimes Nimtsovich played and immediately 1.b2-b3. Subsequently, the move 1. b2-b3 was often found in the games of V. Simagin . Move 1. b2-b3 was internationally recognized in the 1960s and 70s thanks to the games and analyzes of B. Larsen (hence the name of the debut). Beginning 1. b2-b3 was also used by P. Romanovsky , M. Taimanov , R. Fisher and others.
