Biography
Adil Iskenderov was born on May 10, 1910 in Elizavetpol (now Ganja , Azerbaijan ) into a Bek family.
He participated in the drama club of the Work Club in Ganja.
In 1931 he graduated from the Baku Theater College (now the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts ). In his student years he staged performances and played in them. In 1936 he graduated from GITIS. A.V. Lunacharsky . In 1932 - 1936 - the director-intern of the Theater. E.B. Vakhtangov ( Moscow ).
From 1936 - director, from 1938 to 1960 - chief director, art guide (since 1954 - director) of the Azerbaijan Drama Theater named after M. Azizbekova (Baku).
Starred in the movie. He worked as a director at the Azerbaijanfilm film studio, in 1966 - 1974 - director of the film studio.
Since 1937, he conducted pedagogical work at the Baku Theater College (since 1945 - the Azerbaijan Theater Institute named after M.A. Aliyev ) (since 1956 professor ).
Member of the CPSU (b) since 1940 . Member of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan SSR of 4-5 convocations.
Adil Iskenderov died on September 18, 1978 in Baku. He was buried in the Alley of Honor in Baku .

A. Iskenderov starred in many famous Azerbaijani films, such as "Black Rocks", "Dervish explodes Paris" , " Backstab " and so on. In 1958, in the film " On the Far Shores " A. Iskenderov with great skill played the role of owner Rosselini. Despite the fact that his role was episodic, he was able to remain in the memory of the audience. One of Iskenderov’s most memorable roles is the role of “Karbalai Ismail” in the film “ The Last Pass ”. Adil also played this role at the highest level and was able to convey the full flavor of the image of a real Azerbaijani man. For the role of “Karbalai Ismail” A. Iskenderov was awarded for best performance of the male role. In 1977, in the film "A stab in the back," A. Iskenderov acted as the prosecutor of Dadashly. This role was the last role of the great actor. A. Iskenderov was the director of the famous Azerbaijani film " Where is Ahmed ?"
