Kerva is a former urban-type settlement , now a microdistrict of the city of Shatura in the Moscow Region , Russia .

It arose as the village of Kerva-Griva . It began to develop as a village of peat producers at the Petrovsky-Kobelev peat enterprise, which supplied fuel to the Shaturskaya GRES . It was connected with Shatura by a narrow gauge railway . In 1938, received the status of an urban-type settlement and the name Kerva. After converting the state district power station to other types of fuel, peat extraction in Kerv was greatly reduced and the village fell into decay. In 2004 it was included in the city limits of Shatura [1] .
