50 Cent Is the Future is the first official mixtape of the American hip-hop group G-Unit , which includes rappers 50 Cent , Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo . On the cover of the album they are located from left to right. The mixtape was recorded after the unreleased album 50 Cent - Power of the Dollar [3] . The recording took place in Canada. According to XXL magazine, this mixtape was the best ever [4] .

The site that distributes mixtapes DatPiff assigned it a golden status (assigned after 100,000 downloads). As of May 2015, the number of mixtape downloads from this site exceeded 112 thousand [5] .
Mikstape took sixth place in the list of “Top Ten Mixtape List Of All Time” ( Rus. 10 best mixtapes for all time ), which was composed by XXL magazine [6] and first place in the list of “The 50 Best Rapper Mixtapes” ( Rus. 50 best rap mixtapes ) from the magazine Complex [7] .
In addition, Complex magazine in the list of 100 best albums of the decade put this mixtape in 51st place, considering it better than many studio albums [8] .
In 2012, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of this mixtape, 50 Cent released the mixtape The Big 10 . During coverage of this news, Spin 's Marc Hogan named 50 Cent Is the Future still the best mixtape of 2002. [9]
