Story
The action takes place around a 14-year-old lazy boy Niels Holgerssson from a poor family of farmers. In his free time, he loves to mock farm animals. One day, Niels catches Nisse (the house gnome), since his parents were at the church at that time, and Niels was left at home to study Bible verses. The gnome in exchange for freedom offers to give Niels a large gold coin, but the boy deceives the gnome, and he reduces Nils to a tiny size. The main character can now talk to animals. Some are very good-naturedly greeted by him, while others for the early bullying - are evil and want to take revenge. Later, wild Geese flew over the farm. And one goose from the farm - Morten wants to join the pack. He flies away with little Niels and his Hamster to faraway Lapland for the summer. At first, the wild geese were unhappy with the new members of the flock, but then they took them on distant adventures through the historical corners of Sweden , and naturally there is no way to do without new, dangerous adventures. The main character gets acquainted with new people and goes through a peculiar stage of catharsis , learns to help truly people and changes for the better. After all, only proving to the dwarf that he has become different, Niels will be able to return back to its true size.
