3 athletes represent Curaçao and one is South Sudan . Since these are new state formations, by the beginning of the 2012 Summer Olympics, they did not have their own National Olympic Committees , and the athletes had to perform independently under the Olympic flag . Curaçao athletes qualified for the Olympic Games under the flag of the Netherlands Antilles , which was dissolved in 2010, and which included Curaçao.
