Name Etymology

This species was first described by Hugo Theodore Christophe in 1877 . The species epithet was probably given in honor of the literary hero of the tragedy Alma von Goethe “ Faust ”, or in honor of Faustus, the son of the Roman dictator Sulla [1] . In turn, Faust comes from the Latin "faustus" - "happy."

Range

The butterfly lives in the south of Turkmenistan , in the spurs of Kopetdag and Badkhyz [1] .

Biology

In a year gives one generation. Butterflies fly in April - early May. The caterpillar feeds on wild grassy cruciferous plants [1] .
