Choanocystis antarctica (lat.) Is a type of centrohelid dusters of the genus Choanocystis . Antarctic Endemics: South Shetland Islands . The diameter of the spherical cell is 13.2—18.2 microns. It is characterized by curved spicules, has a pointed outgrowth - a spur at the site of the bend of the rod. The species was found in marine samples from the littoral of King George Island, the largest of the South Shetland Islands archipelago [1] .
