History
Construction has been underway since March 28, 2007 , after the launch site of the construction was approved on January 11 of the same year. The cost of the construction of the first section amounted to 22.1 billion yuan.
Start
The first section (the first line with a branch) of the subway began operating in test operation on November 18, 2012 , and was officially opened on November 24 [1] [2] .
Lines
- The first line - 34 stations, 54 km, including 41.6 km of the main part and 12.4 km of the branch, mainly underground, but there are also above-ground (on overpasses) and land sections.
- The second line - 32 stations 42.9 km.
- The fourth line - 17 stations 20.8 km.
The maximum daily passenger flow in 2015 is 1.13 million people. [3]
Operation
In 2010, an agreement was reached to manage the first line with investments by the MTR operator from Hong Kong.
The stations are arranged as a horizontal elevator with glass walls and doors between the platform and the train tracks. Escalators and elevators lead to the platforms [4] .

Perspectives
In 2018, it is planned to launch line 6. It is planned that the subway network will consist of eight lines, the total length of which will be 278 km, and capital investments will be 100 billion yuan [5] .
Incidents
November 15, 2008 there was a collapse of the subway tunnel 75 meters long, there were dead (17) and injured [6] .
Development Prospects
Hangzhou Metro expands sharply from 3 lines to 15 lines in 2022, when the city becomes the host city of the Asian Games .
