Events
- March 7 - Yerevan Metro opened . The first stage launch site, 7.6 km long (of which 1.9 km is the ground part) with four stations:
- “ Barekamutyun ” (in Armenian Բարեկամություն - Friendship)
- “ Saralanji ” ( Armenian Սարալանդժի ), now “Marshal Baghramyan” ( Armenian Մարշալ Բաղրամյան )
- " Yeritasardakan " (in Armenian Երիտասարդական - Youth)
- “ Sasuntsi David ” ( Armenian Սասունցի Դավիթ - David Sasunsky)
- July 10 - the 39th and 40th stations of the Leningrad Metro on the Nevsky-Vasileostrovskaya line were opened :
- " Proletarian "
- " Obukhovo "
- On September 14, a section of Line B of the Lyon Metro was opened from Gare Part Dieu - Vivier Merle station to Jean Mace station
- On October 4, the first section of the Düsseldorf Underground from Kennedydamm Station to Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße Station
- November 27 - opening of the Universität - Planckstraße - Margarethenhöhe (3.6 km) section of the Essen Underground
- December - “ Lenini hrapraparak ” station (in Armenian Լենինի Հրակարակ - Lenin Square), now “Hanrapetutian hrapraparak” (in Armenian Հանրապետության Հրապարակ - Republic Square) was opened on the existing section of the Yerevan Metro .
- December 19 - the third section of the Kurenev-Krasnoarmeyskaya line of the Kiev metro with a length of 2.1 km was opened with two stations:
- " Leo Tolstoy Square " ( Ukrainian "Leo Tolstoy Square" )
- " Republican Stadium " ( Ukrainian. "Republican Stadium" ), now the "Olympic"
- This year, the first line of the Fukuoka Metro was opened .
