Chede "Dame" Filipovsky ( Serb. and maked. Chede "Dame" Filipovsky ; November 16, 1923 , Nikiforovo, near Gostivar - June 29, 1945 , Radoviste ) - the Yugoslav Macedonian partisan, commanded the 48th Macedonian division of the NOAU during the People's Liberation War of Yugoslavia. The national hero of Yugoslavia.

Biography

Born November 16, 1923 in the village of Nikiforovo near Gostivar in a peasant family. After graduating from school, he began to work in the fields and help relatives, in 1937 he left for Belgrade to work as a bricklayer. In Belgrade, he met many of his fellow countrymen and joined the Union of Workers' Syndicates of Yugoslavia. He secretly received Marxist literature from student communists. He participated in organizations of various strikes and strikes, for which he repeatedly went to prison.

After the Germans invaded Yugoslavia, Chede hastily fled to his native village, fleeing the bombing. He was admitted to the Communist Party of Yugoslavia and went to the partisan underground to prepare an armed uprising. In 1942 he was included in the Gostivar City Committee of the Communist Party, then he took the post of Secretary General. In 1943 he entered the 1st Mavrovsky partisan detachment, taking the post of political instructor and the post of commander of the Mavrovsky battalion. He participated in the liberation of the city of Kichevo in September 1943 , which was the first major success of the detachment. Among the partisans he used the pseudonym "Dame".

On November 11, 1943, the 1st Macedonian-Kosovo proletarian shock brigade was formed , whose commander was appointed Petar Bryovich . Chede took the post of deputy commander. He participated in the battles for Kichevo, Bukovnik and the entire region of Debratsi. In June 1944 he was appointed deputy commander of the 1st Macedonian brigade , then he was appointed deputy commander of the 48th Macedonian division , and in April 1945 he became its commander. On December 6, 1944, according to the decree of the Anti-Fascist Council of People’s Liberation of Yugoslavia, he was awarded the Silver Order of the Partisan Star (II degree) for his contribution to the liberation of Macedonia from the invaders. In May 1945, after the war ended, he went to military training.

On June 29, 1945, while driving a motorcycle on the Stip - Strumica highway, Chede crashed to death near Radoviste. Posthumously, on August 1, 1949 he was awarded the title of People's Hero of Yugoslavia. In honor of Filipowski, two schools were named in Gostivar and Vrapchishte. In Radovish, one of the streets was renamed in his honor, and a monument was erected in his native Gostivar.
